Koen Demyttenaere is professor emeritus at the faculty of Medicine of the university of Leuven (KU Leuven) and consultant at the University Psychiatric Center KU Leuven, campus Gasthuisberg in Leuven. His clinical work is within the Anxiety and Depression outpatient clinic and he is still involved in the training of the residents. Main interest fields are anxiety and depression (compliance with antidepressants, conceptualisation, scales in anxiety and depression, quality of life, anhedonia, difficult to treat depression, assessment tools in psychiatry). He published over 335 PubMed listed papers / 412 Web of Science listed papers (web of science h-index 85; google scholar : h-index 121; google scholar : i10-index 316; 70.053 citations). He is on the editorial board of CNS Spectrums and European Psychiatry. He is member of several international advisory boards (in the field of antidepressants and frequently lectures abroad.
